You were all such good little racers this year, you deserve an early Christmas present:

April 21 Canaan Open Practice
May 5 NHMS Race 1
May 26 Canaan Race 2
June 16 Canaan Race 3
June 30 NHMS Race 4

July 28 NHMS Race 6
August 10 – 12 Canaan Race 7 & 8 – AKRA Road Race National

We thought it might be a good idea to start the season with an open practice day for everyone to break in engines and dust off the cobwebs.

July 14 – 15 is our third annual Kart Mania weekend. It’ll be two days of racing with practice and qualifying on Saturday then morning practice and main events on Sunday. And as always a member appreciation party on Saturday night.

August 10-11-12 NHKA will host the American Kart Racing Association (AKRA) Road Race Nationals race on the full road course. this will also be Races 7 & 8 for the NHKA. All day Friday will be practice, followed by two full days of racing. All NHKA local classes are welcome.

NHKA Racing Series Partners with LeCont Tire for 2018

Wednesday, November 8th, 2017

After a season of testing by experienced drivers in both practice and race conditions, as well as observation from competitors at both F1 and NHKA, we are proud to name LeCont as the official tire of the NHKA Racing Series in 2018.

“Our primary goal was to provide our club racers with value and consistency,” says NHKA Co-owner and race director Mike Camarra. “It was a decision we wanted to make without undue outside influence or karting politics. We wanted the tires to speak for themselves out on the track. We found that LeCont Tires demonstrated the best durability and most consistent performance. We expect drivers to get two or more races out of a set with little to no compromise of competitiveness.”

World Formula and Briggs 206 classes will continue to run MG Red label tires. MG tires will be available through your current supplier. Also, all classes will continue to run the same sizes.

To ensure our racers always get the same fair price, and to protect our local shops, NHKA will serve as the exclusive tire distributor for both the NHKA Racing Series and F1 Outdoors Club. All tires will be bar coded and scanned to ensure they were purchased through the club or an authorized local dealer.

“LeCont has stepped up with the consistent, long-lasting tires that club racers have been longing for the last several seasons,” says Camarra. “By offering a tire that helps keep club-level karting simple and affordable, NHKA looks forward to working with LeCont to grow the sport in 2018.”

Who is in for a Kicked Back Day of
Open Practice at Canaan Motor Club?

Wednesday, October 4th, 2017

Canaan Motor Club has offered NHKA Racing Series drivers the opportunity to participate in a day of open practice on the full road course. No pressure, just testing setups, fine tuning your driving, trying karts from other classes and bringing along friends to try their hand at karting. There are two potential dates:

October 21st (RSVP by 10/9)
****OR****
November 4th (RSVP by 10/16)

We would need a minimum of 35 participants. The fee would be $100-$125/driver paid directly to the track. More drivers = less money. While this will not be an NHKA sanctioned event, Race Director Mike Camarra will be at the track to help keep things running smoothly, and the club will be collecting RSVPs:

Races to Watch: 2017 NHKA Racing Series Finale
Saturday, Sept 30th at NHMS

Thursday, September 28th, 2017

It’s hard to believe that we’re only days away from waving the final checkered flag of the 2017 NHKA Racing Series powered by K1 Speed. (Hey lady, behind the scoring computer, wipe that grin off your face.) And wow, what a year! It’s been the year of crazy fast and tight racing with the return of road racing to the Northeast. It’s been the year of new milestones with new #1 and #2 best-attended events in the club’s sprint racing era (Saturday and Sunday of the Northeast Super Series weekend.) Last, but not least, it’s been the year of the hooligans… ‘nuff said on that.

The season isn’t over yet! There are still a number of class championships that won’t be decided until the last lap of this last race. Here’s a preview of the high-stakes races you’ll want to watch:

Cadet: The world of motorsports is filled with sibling rivalries. Michael and Ralph Schumacher. Kurt and Kyle Busch. Caleb and Wyatt Jarvis-Comi. After an entire season of racing, the brothers are only separated by five points, but in the end it could very well be that neither wins the championship. That’s because Matthew Winter is only 15 points out of the lead. Can he pull off the upset from third place in the points? The fact that he has won every race he has entered this year would seem to indicate the answer is yes. This should be a good one!

TaG Mini: Nehal Ramlukan has had quite a season, only finishing outside the top two twice this season. His consistency has put him out front going into the last race, but not by much. Theo Corelli sits just 30 points back with Evan Slater only 10 points behind him, leaving the TaG Mini championship podium very much up in the air.

TaG Jr.: Nikolas Georgantis has a reasonably comfortable 40-point lead for the TaG Jr. title. However, he can’t afford a disastrous day. Not with Garrett Miskoe on a four-win tear.

TaG Masters: “King TaG” Ricardo Nunes has sailed away with the TaG Masters championship tucked safely under one arm, and the TaG Senior championship tucked under the other. Meanwhile, Tim Ferroaro’s string of eight top fives has him safe and sound on the second step of the podium. The third step is another story entirely, with Ray Leonard needing a good result on Saturday to hold off Ryan Ouellette who is only 25 points back. A real nail biter for the two popular veteran racers.

World Formula Light: To absolutely nobody’s surprise, “Fast” Freddie Fawcett and “Dammit” Dave Nadeau have been waging the battle of the season at the front of the uber-competitive Hooligan Light field. Going into the last race, a scant 10 points separates the two. The only surprise here has been fallibility. Dave, who swept the entire season last year, took a wild ride to a 12th-place finish in Race 2, and hasn’t hoisted a Lefty’s on the podium the last two races. Freddie, who launched into 2017 with three wins and a 2nd, has also struggled to get on the podium of late, including an ugly 13th-place finish in Race 8. Will the championship be decided by attrition or wheel to wheel? The battle for the coveted third step on the podium has also come down to the wire. The NHKA’s hardest working solo act, Dan Dupree, finds himself in holding onto third by only 15 points over Michael Antonov, who probably hasn’t stopped kicking himself for his 15th-place stumble in Race 9.

World Formula Heavy: With so much happening at the front of the World Formula melee, it has been easy to miss the battle being waged for the Heavy Championship. Geoff Lockett has really come into his own this season, becoming a podium regular, earning three wins and the points lead. But don’t count out Fabiano Oliveira just yet. He is only 20 points back and has a competitive streak as wide as the front stretch at Canaan and as deep as the infield grass. (haha! Just teasing!) This is certainly one of the races to watch on Saturday.

It’ll be all the usual NHMS procedures: Friday night entry and camping 5-10pm. Gates open back up at 7am Saturday. No race engines before 8:05am. However, we are short on corner works, so if you or anyone you know is interested in making a bit money for watching some great racing, contact Mike Camarra cfmotor@aol.com ASAP

The trophy sponsor for this event is the club, NHKA Racing Series. Mike, Lee and the entire NHKA crew want to thank all our competitors and their families for your continued support and making the 2017 season so much freakin’ fun! You people are the best! We’ll see you at the track on Saturday.

This Saturday, September 16th – IKS Season Finale
NHKA Race 9 and Your Last Shot at Canaan this Season

Wednesday, September 13th, 2017

And all of a sudden, here we are at the last race of the 2017 Interstate Kart Series and the second to last race for the NHKA Racing Series powered by K1 Speed. While we’re clicking off the milestones, it makes sense to note that this will be the season’s last race at Canaan Motor Club. The track has been awesome for the club this year, giving us the opportunity to bring kart road racing back to the Northeast for the first time in nearly a decade. Clearly you guys love it, as show by the record-breaking number of entries at our last event on the big track! Dave Delgenio has been super supportive helping the NHKA make the most of this unique facility.

We will be racing on the sprint/half-track configuration everyone knows well. All the usual track procedures will be in effect this weekend, with Friday entry 5-10pm. There is a $25 camping fee to be paid directly to the track, also, pre-race safety tech and registration will be available. The gates, tech and registration all open again at 7am.

Road Racing Doubleheader at Canaan Motor Club
NHKA Races 6+7 – August 12+13, 2017

Wednesday, July 26th, 2017

It was another great race day with 83 competitors at the NHMS Hill Course for Race 5 of the NHKA Racing Series powered by K1 Speed. Thanks again to K.R.G. Motorsports and the Georgantas family for sponsoring the trophies.

All eyes now turn back to Canaan Motor Club for our huge doubleheader weekend August 12th & 13th. For the last time this season we will be on the full 1.4 mile road course, utilizing the same race procedures as we did for KartMania with one big difference – two races worth of NHKA championship points will be on the line! That means all NHKA rules will apply.

Saturday August 12th will be NHKA Race 6 with trophies sponsored by DD2 racer Ed Chappee’s Hurricane Racing out of North Conway, NH. Sunday the 13th will be NHKA Race 7 with long-time series supporters Adirondack Radiation Therapy picking up the tab for the trophies. It’s great to have TaG Senior driver Kent Vaccaro and his dad Tony back at the track with us.

As if this doubleheader weren’t exciting enough, NHKA will also be hosting the North East Super Series. Tim Hannen and crew draw a loyal following of some of the best racers from New York, Connecticut, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. These guys are FAST! Super Series racers will be following their own rules and scored separately, but mixed in with NHKA racers on track. Think of KartMania and its huge packs of karts going at it hard for the entire 30 minutes. Now add even more karts and pump up the intensity. As awesome as the racing has been all season, we’re thinking this doubleheader could be event everyone talks about for years.

Please stay tuned to this website, our Facebook page and your inbox for more event details as they come available.
