That was a Fun Race Weekend!
Onward to Race 7

Wednesday, August 20th, 2025

Thank you all for a picture-perfect race weekend. The weather was ideal and the on-track action both days were great. Thank you all for getting to the grid on time, staying on the track, and keeping incidents to a minimum.

Up next is Race 7. Registration opens on www.bikereg.com/nhka August 26 at 6pm and closes September 16 at 6pm. There were a few drivers who missed the last race because they missed the registration deadline. Don’t let this be you! Register early.

FYI: We will not be running any Karting Safety Courses during race events for the reminder of the season. However, we will be making arrangements to conduct safety courses and coaching sessions at Club Motorsports. So, if you know someone who wants to try karting, send a message to nhkaracingseries@gmail.com

More updates will follow shortly.

Another Fun Kartmania is in the Books!

Wednesday, July 23rd, 2025

Thank you all for making Kartmania 9 such a blast! Delicious BBQ, lots of homecooked goodies, cornhole madness, a live musical performance, plus great pit decorations – congrats to Addie Mae Racing and all of those unicorns!

Thank you also for your cooperation getting the races in early on Sunday ahead of the forecasted rain. The rain never came, but we are grateful for your efforts to ensure everyone would have been able to race if it had.

A final note on Kartmania: One of our young drivers lost a gold chain with a star of David. If anyone found or saw it, please send an email to nhkaracingseries@gmail.com

Next up is the Race 5 & 6 weekend, August 16 & 17. This event will feature two full days of racing. You can register now at www.bikereg.com/NHKA

Who Else is Ready for Kartmania?
The Biggest, Fastest, Funnest Weekend of the Year!

Thursday, July 17th, 2025

It’s here. Kartmania 9. This will be Race 4, and the only event of the season where championship points will be awarded for qualifying. It’s also the only event the NHKA gets back to its road racing roots. All senior classes will race on the full road course with the chicane. 206 Cadet and 206 Junior will run Track 1 clockwise. It’s gonna be super-fast and super fun!

We hope everyone is ready for a lot of track time. Saturday will be a full day of practice by groups. To get everyone the maximum time behind the wheel, we may try to combine some groups. So be sure to check near the grid Saturday morning for the listing of practice groups and their running order.

On or about 4pm Saturday, we will switch to race groups for qualifying. Your race group may be different from your practice group, so be sure to check the list posted near the grid in the afternoon. Remember, for this weekend only, qualifying pays championship points (1/2 race points) which will be added to your Sunday race points – making this likely the most important qualifying session of your season.

On Sunday morning, we will run two rounds of practice, then go right into timed extended races.

BBQ!!!!!
After the conclusion of Saturday’s on-track activities, you are all invited to join us for a BBQ. We will be serving up pulled pork, mac and cheese, and apple baked beans from the Poor House BBQ in Canaan Village. We will also be grilling burgers and dogs. We have it on good authority that a number of members will be bringing delicious homemade desserts and sides. If you would like to bring your own special dish to share, please let us know at nhkaracingseries@gmail.com There will also be the fun pit decorating contest. The rules are simple: Must be non-political, family-friendly, and not include loud music or noises. And like last year, bribing the judges is not necessarily forbidden… but not guaranteed to work either.

A Few Reminders…

Registration is closed. We will not accept any late registrations.

No one is allowed on the property without a pit pass wristband.

Anyone under 18 years of age (competitor or not) must be with at least one of their parents OR accompanied by an adult in possession of a signed and notarized temporary guardianship letter, which you can download here.

Overnight camping: The gate will be closed at 9pm on both nights. NO ENTRY OR RE-ENTRY AFTER 9PM. You may leave the property at any time, but you must be back by 9pm. No exceptions.

The spec fuel for all Briggs classes is 87 octane pump gas from Jake’s Store/Erving Gas, right next to the Canaan Fire Station, immediately before the center of town when coming from the track.

Spec oil for all Briggs classes is Amsoil 4t. No additives.

We had several disqualifications during our post-race tech at the last event. We are checking several different things each week. DO NOT CHEAT. It’s not worth it.

Event Schedule

FRIDAY EVENING

Kartmania – Coming in Hot!

Monday, July 7th, 2025

We hope you all had a fun and safe 4th of July holiday with family and friends. We have been quiet these past couple of weeks getting in some much needed vacation and family time.

The Kartmania/Race 4 weekend is fast approaching. We are looking forward to another weekend of good weather. All senior classes will run the full road course with the chicane clockwise. 206 Cadet and 206 Junior will run track 1 clockwise. Saturday will be a full day of group practice – 4-5 sessions each. Around 4pm we will start qualifying by race groups to determine starting positions for Sunday’s racing as well as championship points that will be on top of the points your earn for your finishing position in the race Sunday. Qualifying well at Kartmania could make all the difference when the points are totaled at the end of the season.

Registration is open until Tuesday July 16 at 6pm on www.bikereg/nhka

After qualifying on Saturday we would like to invite all of our racers and friends to stick around for a BBQ social. We will be serving BBQ pulled pork, mac and cheese and apple baked beans from the Poor House BBQ in Canaan Village. If you’re able to bring additional side dishes and desserts to share, they’d be most welcome and appreciated. Please just send a quick email to nhkaracingseries@gmail.com to let us know what you’d like to bring. After the big feed there will be the usual socializing and cornhole. Hope to see you there.

About the incident at the last event… As most of you know, we had an unfortunate incident between two parents in the viewing area. We have been discussing and monitoring the situation along with track management. Actions will be taken which will be discussed at Saturday morning’s drivers meeting. There was also another incident on the property that weekend, as well as several post-race tech issues that will also be discussed.

Stay tuned for more event details as we approach the registration deadline, including a complete weekend schedule.

Registration Open for
the First Doubleheader Weekend of 2025

Thursday, June 5th, 2025

Race 1 is in the books—after we wiped it down with WD-40 and left it in the sun to dry. If you feel like we’re getting picked on by Mother Nature, know that every Saturday event at Canaan since mid-April has been rained on. All we can do is hope for better weather next time or consider taking up speedboat racing.

It rained all day, but 100 drivers had a blast! Despite the conditions, everyone did a fantastic job staying on track and keeping the vibe fun. The day wouldn’t have been possible without our dedicated (and waterproof!) track staff, corner workers, and property manager. Be sure to say thanks the next time you see them.

Up next is our Race 2 & 3 Doubleheader Weekend on June 21 & 22, featuring complete race-day schedules on both Saturday and Sunday. Registration is open now at www.bikereg.com/nhka and closes on June 18 at 6pm. You’ll find two options: a two-day entry for the whole weekend, or a one-day option if you can only attend on Saturday or Sunday.

Stay tuned. More details to come.

It is Time for Race 1 of the 2025 NHKA Racing Series

Thursday, May 29th, 2025

We are all ready for the first race of the new 2025 season. Race 1 is sponsored by SpA Speed. Thank you to George, Dean, Keith, and Kloe for their support.

Unfortunately, the weather is being a jerk again. If we do need to declare a wet track, the rain tire rule will be in effect: All drivers must use LeCont rain tires for all qualifying and the race sessions. This includes the LeCont white label and older purple label rain tires. No other rain tires will be allowed on the track for any official sessions.

Please understand that we will adjust the day’s schedule according to weather conditions to do our best accommodating everyone.

Event Schedule

Friday:
5pm Gate opens
5-8pm Race registration pick up, pit pass sales (cash only), trailer drop off, pit and camping set up, pre-race kart safety inspection
8pm Gate closes. No entry after 8pm. No exceptions.

Saturday:
6:30am Gate opens. Do NOT park on the street in front of the track if you arrive early. Race registration pick up, pit pass sales (cash only)
8:15am Mandatory meeting for all drivers and guests
8:45am Kid karts on track (if dry)
12:00pm Gate closes. No entry or pit pass sales after noon.

Race Groups and Schedule

We will be on Track 1, clockwise – same as the May 3rd practice day.

1 Kid Kart Dry only. 4 sessions. Finished for the day at lunch break.
2 206 Cadet
3 206 Junior
4 TaG Senior / DD2
5 World Formula Light and Heavy
6 206 Medium
7 TaG Masters
8 206 Senior
9 206 Masters

There are several drivers running two classes. This is the best I could come up with. Someone always ends up running two sessions in a row no matter how I arrange it. If that’s you, we will do our best to help you out.

Each group will have two 7-8 minute practice sessions and a 5 minute qualifying session before lunch break. Then 15-lap races in the afternoon. This is subject to change depending on track conditions.

A Few Reminders…

Pit pass wristbands must be worn at all times by all drivers and guests. No one can be on the property without one. Anyone found without will be removed from the property along with any associated driver and team.

No open alcohol or other mind-altering substances by anyone during the day until after the last race is finished.

Please take all of your trash home with you: used tires, fuel cans, broken canopies and chairs. DO NOT throw any of those items in the dumpster. DO NOT throw any trash in the porta-potties. Leave your pit area as clean as you found it.

Tire pre-sale requests are closed for this event. Tires will be available at the track while supplies last.

Speaking of tires… As previously announced, there is a 10% tariff upcharge on all tire sales until further notice. We will publish a tire order form with updated pricing before the next race.

Please be aware that we will not respond to emails until Monday. For urgent matters, your best bet is to try messaging the NHKA Facebook page.

Thank you all!!! See you Saturday!!!!

Now that We’ve Practiced
Let’s Race!

Tuesday, May 6th, 2025

We had a successful season-opening day of practice at Canaan. We managed to get in three good dry sessions before lunch. Then the rain came for the rest of the afternoon. Fifteen hearty drivers decided rain practice was a good idea, so we obliged. It was fun to watch from the sidelines. Next time you see the corner workers, be sure to let them know how much we appreciate them sticking it out.

We thank everyone for a good safe day, and welcome to the 17 new drivers who took the Karting Safety Course. We were proud to see our experienced racers helping them get up to speed throughout the day. This rookie crop did a fantastic job finding their way around and respecting the track limits as well as each other. All will be joining their respective classes for Race 1. (Another Karting Safety Course is scheduled for that event.)

Speaking of Race 1 – Let’s Goooooo!
Registration for Race 1 is now open www.bikereg.com/nhka Registration will close on Tuesday May 27 at 6pm. More news and updates will follow in the days leading up to the race.

About Tire Prices…
Unfortunately, we are being hit with a 10% tariff charge on tires starting immediately. Our partners and participating shops are all getting hit with it. Please understand that the market is still sorting itself out, so we’ll keep you up to date.
