NEW DATE: Saturday April 17th will be the first NHKA road race.
Thursday, February 25th, 2010Great news! New Hampshire Motor Speedway has given us a better date for the season’s first road race: Saturday April 17, 2010. No snow or run off. No freezing temperatures. No conflict with Easter or the NJ race. No excuses!
If you have already sent in your pre-entry for the 3rd, you’re all set. If you entered but can’t make the new date just email Lee leec@nhka.net.
We still need a minimum of 100 entries to run the event. The new deadline for pre-entries is March 12, 2010. So if you haven’t entered yet, Download the pre-entry form and mail it in today!
As we had planned for the previously announced date, this will be a doubleheader. More great news is the track has granted us Friday evening entry from 6-9pm. So if you want to come early for safety tech and to be set up for a busy Saturday of racing, you can camp at the track.
Why the sudden change? We have a new person to work with at the track who has said he wants to help us build the club back up. Could this mean additional road racing dates this season? Possibly. A strong turn out on April 17th would go a long way to proving that NHKA makes dollars and sense for the track. If we want the track to care about karting, we need to show how much we care about karting. Get those entries in!
Granite State Kart Championship
Wednesday, January 20th, 2010
Apex Kartsports & CFMotorsports present the
Granite State Kart Championship
Hosted by NHKA & Sugar Hill Speedway
New England sprint karters have been asking for an affordable series that will draw big fields of the best racers for a championship worth winning. The NHKA Racing Series is pleased to be playing a big part in making it reality for the 2010 racing season!
Twelve races. Two venues. Multiple tracks.
Completely separate from our road racing series, NHKA will host six GSKC races at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. There will be three races on the high-speed Hill Course, and three more on SuperNats! inspired temporary tracks. Sugar Hill Speedway will host six races on its newly expanded road course. Now nearly a half-mile long, the new track offers all the twists and Gs of the old one, but more of them.

Classes for everyone. Pricing for anyone.
GSKC’s soon to be announced class structure will welcome TaG, 2-cycle, 4-cycle and shifters. There will be divisions for Masters, Seniors, Juniors and Kids. Fuel and tire rules will be open. And you’ll be glad to know that that the goal is to hold entries to $60 or less.
Be ready for the first race! Saturday May 1, 2010
The first race of the Granite State Kart Championship will be on a temp track at NHMS. A blank slate for every driver – the perfect way to kick off a new series. Be there!
