The season finale is just around the corner for the NHKA Racing Series driven by Checkered Flag Indoor Karting. With several championships and podium finishes still very much up for grabs, NHKA Race 11 on Saturday October 19th promises exciting battles all the way through the last lap. The event being on the tight, super-physical S3 Lot Temp Track, ratchets the pressure even further. Who can balance the desire to finish first with the patience to last? Who will be holding up the trophies and who will be loading up bent karts? For racers, families and spectators alike, it is going to be a wild day of wheel-to-wheel action.
After a good amount of public discussion, and not a whole lot of enthusiastic commitment from racers, Mike and Lee have decided not to add the extra day on October 20th. It appears that many of you have lives beyond the track. (We were shocked!) Between CCD, family gatherings, yard work, homework, adding a fun race to the schedule at the last minute just wasn’t going to draw the entries needed to cover the costs.
That doesn’t mean racing is over for the season, not by a long shot! There’s plenty happening at F1 Outdoors:
10/26 Open Practice
10/27 F1 Club Race
11/2 Open Practice
11/3 F1 Club Race
11/9 F1 Open Practice
11/10 F1 Outdoors 150
150 laps for Rotax, 75 laps for World Formula
Click here for some practical tips about racing at F1. They run all the same classes (except Yamaha) and all the same rules (except for the silencer requirement.) So there’s no reason to get gloomy about NHKA not racing on the 20th. There’s still plenty of fun to be had with our friends at F1 Outdoors!
